Healthy holiday Monday


DAY 48: Bromyard to Great Malvern – 12 miles

Thankfully – as always – my body seemed to bounce back ok after yesterday’s hard slog. But I wasn’t taking any precautions, booking an Airbnb room for tonight at the start of the Malvern Hills to make sure I had an easier and shorter day ahead. Obviously I had no control over the weather, but that too was looking promising – although being a bank holiday, you never know! I could of course do something about the food I ate so this morning made a conscious effort to go for the healthier veggie breakfast at the cute little cafe in the square opposite my hotel. And then I stopped off at the co-op to stock up on healthy provisions to snack on throughout the day.

So¬†I therefore enjoyed a fairly leisurely day, walking more country lanes, stopping on sunny curb side spots to enjoy my picnic along the way. Arriving in Great Malvern at a fairly reasonable hour, which meant I could sit with my Airbnb hosts and enjoy a cuppa in the grounds of their lovely house. And I didn’t have to go far for dinner either, with a nice pub literally over the road… Ok it was a bit expensive but it’s nice to treat yourself to a proper dinner every once in a while.
